The 2nd training course for referees and judges of the Ancient Khmer MMA

With the permission of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, the Commission on Affairs to organize the Ancient Khmer Mixed Martial Arts Competition "Samdech Thipadei Trophy" has organized the training course for referees and judges on Friday morning, March 21, 2025, at the Kunthoar Sports School to prepare for the Ancient Khmer mixed martial arts competition (2nd Samdech Thipadei Trophy), which is scheduled to be held from November 27 to 30, 2025 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Permanent Secretary General of the Commission on Affairs, said that the above important course will strengthen the capacity and implementation of the competition properly and better and examine the shortcomings from the organization of the competition last year to resolve this time, as well as develop scientific knowledge in organizing of the competing regulations to be better than before.

 

H.E. Secretary General said that: "This course has referees and judges from the Kun Khmer Federation, the Yutkromkhorm Federation, the Cambodia Wrestling Federation, the Cambodia Kun Bokator Federation and the Cambodia Mixed Martial Arts Federation, a total of 60 participants. This course will have a competitive examination to receive the Level 1 Referee Certificate, not just to come and learn and can receive the certificate.

The study is divided into 4 categories: 1. the theory of martial arts, competition rules and other regulations of ancient Khmer mixed martial arts. 2. The practice on the field of referees and judges and how to score. 3. Focus on the behavior and ethics of referees and judges, adhering to integrity, honesty, justice, transparency, impartiality and avoiding the four prejudices."

This course has 5 instructors with experience in organizing competitions in the past, and the study has 2 days, ending in the evening of March 22. Successful participants will receive the certificate, and those who passed will be eligible to participate in organizing the competitions in both mixed martial arts (MMA) and ancient Khmer martial arts competitions.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun has also thanked to Samech Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to provide supports and allow organizing this training course for referees and judges, and the course will be repeated closer to the official competition.
