The Olympic Solidarity Coaching Course of Swimming on Level 1 successfully completed and important

Phnom Penh: Mr. Miguel Angel Lopez Alvardo, a Spanish swimming coach was sent by the International Swimming Federation to help training the Cambodian swimming coach trainees, said that, the Olympic Solidarity Coaching Course of Swimming on Level 1 which has been running for a week and is very important for Cambodian swimming coaches to train athletes in clubs with quality, which contributes to encouraging Cambodian swimming athletes to have more potential to compete for medals for Cambodia on the international stage.

He said that of course, learning does not end with Level 1, that is, there are many Level 2 and 3 studies, but this Level 1 course contains many key lessons related to the coaching plan to train athletes to be had quality and potential.

Mr. Miguel Angel Lopez Alvardo emphasized that the trainees are coaches who gained the knowledge and skills of the Level 1 Swimming Coaching Course that currently shared with him, bring to train the athletes in clubs, which will expand the resources of coaches, especially in producing outstanding athletes with full potential. The above trainer sees that through the development of Cambodia's current swimming, he believes that in 2027, Cambodia will be able to win at least one gold medal from the SEA Games and in 2029, when Cambodia hosts the Asian Youth Games, Cambodia also has high expectations of winning medals. 

Mr. Hem Kiri, Secretary General of the Khmer Swimming Federation, said that this swimming coach training course focuses on Level 1, which they have already received the basic training. The federation’s goal wants those coaches to take their knowledge and continue to train the young athletes.

 

 

Mr. Hem Kiri expressed his hope that after completing the training course, the 25 Level 1 coaching participants will use all their knowledge to train athletes in organizations and clubs to improve both quantity and quality in the future. He added that all the young coaches that the Khmer Swimming Federation has given the opportunity to develop their abilities with the goal of expanding the resources of the youth swimming academy to be more abundant with high quality in the future.

 

This course has for one week, with the trainer sharing his knowledge in class and directly implementing it by bringing young athletes to join in training. When there are mistakes during the course, the trainer will help correct any mistakes to the athletes and coaches.

This Olympic Solidarity Coaching Course of Swimming on Level 1, is taught by trainer Mr. Lopez Akvarado Miguel Angel, a Spanish swimming coach from the International Swimming Federation, under the coordination of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC). There are 25 participants from the Phnom Penh Department of Education, Youth and Sports, Battambang Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports, Neakreach Kampong Cham Swimming Club, Koh Thom Swimming Club, Kandal Province club, Koh Thom Swimming Club, Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Swimming Association, Ministry of Interior Club, Ministry of Economy and Finance Club, Ministry of Public Works and Transport Club, and the Khmer Swimming Federation.
