Phnom Penh: H.E. Ly Kosal, Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense and President of the Federation, accompanied by Brigadier General Keo Ros, Secretary General of the Federation, attended the Annual General Assembly of the Badminton Federation BA and WBF in Xiemen city, People’s Republic of China, from 24 to 27 April 2025.
The four-day Annual General Assembly of the Badminton Federation BA and WBF aims to allow the member countries to present their progress, income and expenditure, financial status of the organization and support for its members. All activity reports were approved by the General Assembly in full.
April 25 is a forum to meet with members, with outstanding speakers to share their experiences. This forum is an opportunity to meet and build friendship between 202 members from different countries. The main presentations today are on Member Capacity, Sustainability, Inclusive Badminton and Innovation.
On April 27, the General Assembly Program of the World Badminton Federation after the various committees have presented their annual progress reports, including the financial status of the WBF and the support to its members, all activities were approved by the General Assembly.
The outgoing WBF President did not stand for re-election for personal reasons and as there were no other candidates to stand for election, the General Assembly has chosen Ms. Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul from Thailand as to be the President and will continue to lead for a four-year term until 2029.
The next Annual General Assembly was decided by the General Assembly to be held in April or May 2026 in Europe, in Denmark.
