The Important tasks for the Wrestling Federation to do in its new mandate

The Cambodia Wrestling Federation has many important plans to implement in the new mandate 2025-2029, both in terms of resource and technical training. This was stated by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, President of the Cambodia Wrestling Federation, at the general assembly to end the old mandate 2021-2025 and continue the new mandate 2025-2029 on Friday morning, May 23, 2025.

His Excellency the President said that: "Please, coaches train young athletes because in wrestling, as well as other sports, if we have many and good female athletes, we have an advantage over male athletes in all competitions. We take female athletes as a strategy, and another thing for male athletes, we focus more on heavyweights because they are not so abundant in Asia. If in Europe, heavyweights are abundant. Another thing is to organize referees and judges well, and the roles and responsibilities of both the general secretary and the treasurer must be transparent. Work management must also be in accordance with the rules and regulations. There must be technical development of both athletic resources from the young level to the senior team and from the senior team to the national team. Referees and judges must also be separate, and the marketing committee must be separate for finding marketing, organizing various events, and scheduling domestic and international competitions. In addition, the ancient wrestling commission must also be established in this new mandate, because there will be in the ancient Khmer mixed martial arts events."

For the leadership composition in this new mandate, H.E. Vath Chamroeun continued as President of the Cambodia Wrestling Federation and with 4 vice presidents such as, H.E. Sam Sophoan, Mr. Casey DOuglas Barnett, Mr. Hok Chheang Kim and Mr. Sim Touch. Meanwhile, Ms. Kang Nochbovor continued as Secretary General and Mr. An Sovathiya as Treasurer General, while the federation has 6 members.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun stated that, the leadership composition for this new mandate has increased by 2 members to contribute to improving work efficiency even further.
