(Phnom Penh): The competition of Taekwondo WT at the 4th National Games ended successfully after 4 days competition from October 30 to November 2, 2024, with the WT Taekwondo team of the Ministry of Interior won the most medals, a total of 12 medals.
H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and President of the Cambodia Taekwondo Federation (WT) was presided over the closing ceremony of the competition of Taekwondo WT at the Poyong-Khmer Taekwondo Training Hall of the National Olympic Stadium, and were also attended by delegates and athletes from all 18 ministries and capitals and provinces that participated in the competition.
For technical results of the competition, the Ministry of Interior won the most medals with a total of 12 medals (10 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal ), the Ministry of National Defense was in second place with a total of 10 medals (3 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 2 bronze medals), Battambang Province was in third place with a total of 8 medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze), Kampong Cham Province was in fourth place with a total of 7 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze), Prey Veng Province was in fifth place with a total of 5 medals (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze) and Pailin Province was in sixth place with a total of 2 medals (1 gold and 1 bronze).
Stated in the closing ceremony, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron thanked and appreciated the Taekwondo WT Organizing Committee for successfully organizing at the 4th National Games 2024 and for conducting it smoothly, by maintaining safety and health of participants, as well as coaches and athletes who adhered to the competition rules and regulations of the games very well.
His Excellency, Deputy Prime Minister continued that: “The 4th National Games is the high attention to the sports sector by the Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, in that, the Cambodian Taekwondo Federation also participated in organizing of the 4th National Games to measure the technical and capabilities of athletes in preparing to be selected into the national team to train and prepare for the 33rd SEA Games 2025 to be held in the Kingdom of Thailand.”
