This is a great result, while the federation has seen some young athletes who are capable of reaching the international competition level.
His Excellency continued that, “After this competition, we will urge all coaches to focus on developing more potential athletes, as we have seen about 4-5 athletes who can compete with the seniors in the combined or individual disciplines. For example, in the under 55 kg weight category, a male player Vireak Bot is good. We see that he can participate in the international competitions for the fighting discipline. As for the performance discipline, there are some other athletes and 2-3 other athletes with good potential.”
In addition, His Excellency has also thanked the Ministry of Education for including Vovinam in the secondary school sports competition and hoped that in the following years, the Ministry would include this potential sport in more Primary School Games or University Games to provide opportunities for male and female athletes in clubs and capitals and provinces who are training under the careful efforts of the Federation to show their abilities and talents, as well as to encourage them to train harder after their studies and to avoid committing other shameful acts.
