Phnom Penh: The National Kickboxing Championship 2024, which will be held in 2025 from March 3 to 5, 2025, has found outstanding athletes in all 12 disciplines, while the competition is claimed to have ended smoothly and successfully.
H.E. Heng Sok Khon, President of the Cambodia Kickboxing Federation, said: The National Championship 2024 focuses on young athletes, based on the Federation’s strategic plan to select quality new athletes ready for the needs of the international competition market, which is increasing overseas.
The athletes who selected from the National Championship will be further encouraged by the Federation to undergo training to develop their abilities. They will also be prepared for the Federation to select candidates to replace the national athletes in the event of injuries during training and competition that prevent the national team from participating in competitions such as the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of 2025.
His Excellency also claimed that: For this year's championship competition, the participation of youth from clubs is very encouraging, while currently the rules of kickboxing are clearly understood by the athletes after we hosted the SEA Games 2023 and won many medals.
Please note that: Competition of the National Kickboxing Championship 2024, in 2025 will be held for 3 days, starting from March 3 and ending on March 5, 2025, with 10 participating associations and clubs competing in 12 disciplines and 12 weight categories.
As a result, the Ministry of National Defense ranked first with a total of 7 medals, including 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. The Ministry of Interior ranked second with a total of 8 medals, including 2 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. Svay Rieng Province ranked third with a total of 3 medals, including 2 gold medals, and 1 silver medal. While Kep Province ranked fourth with a total of 6 medals (1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
