H.E. Pan Sorsak, Member of the National Assembly of Cambodia and President of the Cambodia Cycling Federation, urged coaches, especially coaches who have just completed the Level 1 training course, to use and share their knowledge widely to produce resources for athletes across the capitals and provinces in preparation for national and international competitions, especially preparations for hosting the 2031 Asian Youth Games in Cambodia.

This instruction was made on the occasion of His Excellency presiding over the closing ceremony of the Level 1 Technical Training Course for Cycling Coaches under the budget project of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on February 5, 2026, after a 4-day study process at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia. This course was attended by 25 participants and taught by International Certificate (Level 3) trainer Mr. Yeun Piyut.

According to the report of Mr. Nou Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Federation said that, this course is organized in accordance with the Federation’s human resource development plan towards the 2031 Asian Youth Games. Therefore, the Federation organized this short course to develop the capacity of national coaches and ensure the training of athletes and as well as sending athletes to participate in the competition in a manner that is appropriate and in accordance with the standards of international organizations, especially the training of coaches and athletes in the capital and provinces.

He said, “This training course is very important in improving the capacity of human resources in the field of coaching athletes and to organize the plan of cycling competitions to let athletes participate in the competition clearly understand about the rules of fair competition, safety, and are prepared to lead and coach athletes to participate in the international cycling competitions, especially to prepare to host the upcoming 2031 Asian Youth Games.”

After completing the above course, His Excellency expressed his admiring and high appreciation for the support of the Ministry of Education and the cooperation of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia in organizing the Level 1 Technical Training Course for Cycling Coaches, which has made the federation’s coaches understand more clearly about the techniques in preparing and coaching athletes to prepare for participating in the national and international cycling competitions.

His Excellency the President of the Federation continued that, “After completing this important training course, all participants will take all this knowledge and share it with their associations, clubs and teams of athletes in the capital and provinces, in accordance with the plan to develop technical skills for national and international sports competitions in the future, especially the training of the next generation of athletes in preparation for hosting the 5th Asian Youth Games in 2031.”

For the results of the first Level 1 coach training course which taught by a Cambodian trainer, was assessed that among the participants, 20% received good grades, 50% received fair grades, and 30% received average grades.
