Phnom Penh: The competing event of Petanque Open, to be a competition which
has organized to celebrate the 115th International Women’s Day, which just
ended on March 8, was considered by H.E. Pon Sok, Director General of the Directorate
General of Sports of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, as an event
that helps increase opportunities for male and female Petanque players from all
over Cambodia to come together to compete, exchange experiences, and further
strengthen their skills.

This competition of Petanque Open was organized under the collaboration
between the Directorate General of Sports, the Union of Youth Federations of
Cambodia (UYFC) Phnom Penh, the Boules and Petanque Club (BOS), and private
companies as sponsoring partners. The competition was held at the Petanque
court in the National Olympic Stadium.
His Excellency said that: The creation of this competition has helped
attract people of all classes to join and play the sport of Petanque, as well
as other sports in their daily lives, and has also helped promote the sport of
Petanque to be more fruitful.

In addition, the creation of this competition has also helped expand the
scope of Petanque competitions to be more fruitful to a new level, providing
opportunities for Petanque lovers to participate in championship-level
competitions.
Please also confirm that, the competition, which was held for only one
day, as results: the Boules and Petanque Club of the Keo Kimsia Dental Clinic
winning first place, second place went to the B52 Boules and Petanque Team,
third place went to the Kampong Chhnang Province Boules and Petanque Team, and
fourth place went to the BOS Boules and Petanque Team, Group 1.
