Phnom Penh: The Cambodia Tug-of-war Federation has announced
to associations of tug of war, ministries, institutions, capital and provinces
that the Cambodia Tug of War Federation will organize the competition of the
2025 National Tug of War Championship, which will be held from December 1 to 3,
2025 at the Techo Field (Poy Ta Moung) in Sangkat No. 4, Preah Sihanouk City,
Preah Sihanouk Province.
Mr. Chap Ratana, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Tug of War
Federation, said that for the 2025 competition, the Federation will organize
four events in four weight categories for men and women, including: 1. Men: 8
persons to 8 persons, weight 600 kilograms; 2. Women: 8 persons to 8 persons, weight
500 kilograms; 3. Men: 4 persons to 4 persons, weight 300 kilograms; 4. Women:
4 persons to 4 persons, weight 250 kilograms.
The Secretary-General also highlighted that, the selecting
competition of the 2025 National Championship, which supported by the Ministry
of Education, Youth and Sports, was held with four major purposes: 1. To help
preserving and keeping the game of tug of war, which is a popular game and has
been associated with Khmer culture and tradition since ancient times., 2. To
develop the game of tug of war into a competition to select national champions
and to select champions at the ASEAN, Asian and world levels, and to transform
it into a sport with the potential to represent the nation on the international
stage., 3. to select teams and players with good and outstanding abilities to
prepare for participating in the international competitions at the invitation
of the International Tug of War Federation., 4. To inspire the tug of war
sector in Cambodia to be more comprehensive and receive more support and
interest from the public.
Please confirm that: Associations, Ministries, Institutions,
capitals and provinces for one team must have at least 4 female and male
athletes aged 18 years old. Applications to participate in the competition will
be accepted from the date of this announcement until November 15, 2025 at building
of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, 3rd floor of the Cambodia Tug of
War Federation. Please attached: 1. two copies of the application form, 2. two
copies of the contract, 3. two copies of the list of delegates, coaches,
athletes, 4. two new photo albums measuring 4cm x 6cm, 5. two photos of each
player or delegate measuring 4cm x 6cm.
Note: All expenses for accommodation, meals, and travel are
the responsibility of the ministries, institutions, capitals, and provinces.
