Bahrain: Cambodia national pencaksilat athlete Phok Daninhel won a
bronze medal in the pencaksilat category at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in the
evening of October 20, 2025 in Bahrain.

Phok Daninhel
advanced to the semi-finals, facing Indonesian athlete Habbil Furgon Winata,
who is the owner of the pencaksilat martial art, and lost to win a bronze medal
in the 55kg wrestling category.

With receiving
the bronze medal, which is a new record for Cambodia at the Asian Youth Games,
Cambodia Pencaksilat national athlete Phok Daninhel said that, he felt happy
and proud to be competing in this major Asian event. This young Pencaksilat athlete
did very well in the semi-final, but due to the head injury and lack of
experience, he started to feel confused and lost. Receiving the bronze medal,
he said that he did well because his partner is also the owner of this martial
artist. The athlete Phok Daninhel would like to thank the Cambodian fans who
sent messages to support him as encouragement.

The coach Vy Tara
also expressed his interest that receiving the bronze medal for Phok Daninhel
in the event of the Asian Youth Games is a source of pride for our Cambodian athletes
because we tried our best and also faced to the martial art owner. They are
good players, and we are not. The competition technique was good, but because
we lacked experience and did not control our emotions well. In Group A, where Phok
Daniel competed, all were strong athletes, while the competition was divided
into two groups, there was another group B.

This is the
first medal for Cambodia in the Asian Youth Games after participating in the
previous two games without winning any medals. The first time in 2009 in
Singapore, Cambodia sent three athletes to compete but did not achieve good
results, and the second time in 2013 in China, Cambodia sent two athletes to
compete but did not win any medals.

It should be
noted that, Cambodia Pencaksilat athlete Phuc Daninhel set a new record for
Cambodia at the 3rd Asian Youth Games by winning a bronze medal on October 20,
2025, competing in the Class D Over 51Kg-55Kg category.
