21 Countries Compete for Tennis Medals of the Tep Kunnah Memorial Cup

Tennis athletes from 21 countries have participated in the competition for the 30th Annual Tep Kunnah Memorial Cup 2025 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh to commemorate the anniversary of former strongest player Tep Kunnah of Cambodia.

Mss. Sum Chenda, coordinator of the Tennis Competition of Tep Kunnah’s Cup, highlighted that the event will run for two weeks, with the first week started from November 10-15 and the second week will start from November 16-21, 2025. She added that this competition will feature high-level technical tennis players, with a focus on young athletes, while the host country, Cambodia, will have three players to participate competing against international players to gain experience and improve their technical skills.

At the same time, Mss. Sum Chenda emphasized that, for organizing to host the 2025 Tournament, the federation has been preparing for months to make comprehensive arrangements for food, accommodation, transportation, etc. to receive delegates, coaches, and athletes from 20 other countries to receive the warmth and national honor of being the host.

 

The coordinator of this event said that, tennis athletes who from 21 countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Japan, England, Norway, Brunei, Russia, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Bangladesh, and France, etc.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chea Pov, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia Tennis Federation, also said that, this tournament was held to commemorate Mr. Tep Khunnah, a former tennis athlete of Cambodia in the 1960s and the father of Mr. Tep Rithiwit, Secretary General of the Cambodia Tennis Federation. Mr. Tep Khunnah was the former famous tennis athlete who passed away more than 20 years ago.
