H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), considered the sports administration course as an important basis for leading and managing the sports organizations with transparency, integrity, good governance and good leadership to ensure the effectiveness of sports work and the development of each specialized sport sector to achieve equal competitiveness at the regional, continental and global levels in the future.

This was highlighted at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Solidarity Course on Sports Administration after a 4-day study process from September 15-18, 2025 at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia. The course was attended by 56 participants, most of whom were officials from the national sport federations, under the sponsorship of the Olympic Solidarity Organization and taught by many instructors with many years of knowledge and experience, including H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the NOCC and H.E. Noy Phana, etc.

H.E. Dr. Senior Minister said that, the participants in this course also understood about the principles of good governance of the Olympic Movement, which are key principles that all members of the Olympic Movement, including national sport federations, must implement consistently to ensure compliance with the Olympic Charter. The Sports Administration must study and clearly understand the regulations of national sports administration and international sport administration. This means that Cambodia has a national sports policy, a national sports strategy and development policy, which are the policy guidelines for the development of the national sports sector. However, all practices must be comprehensively examined and consistent, in accordance with the fundamental principles of international sports and the International Olympic Charter, so that sports can develop sustainably.

H.E. Dr. Thong Khon continued that, “This course has provided new and good knowledge in sports administration, sports techniques, sports science and sports theory, which can be used by the participants to serve in the national sports federation effectively. But the important factor is to apply the results of the professional knowledge from the study correctly and continue to share it with your sports family more so that you can provide positive results and get concrete results in building and developing professional sports in the national sport federations.

Therefore, His Excellency Dr. called on the participants who have completed the sports administration course now, as well as sports leaders, to continue to attend this advanced sports management course.

Please note that, after the 4-day study process, 40 participants received very good grades, equivalent to 71%, 7 good grades, equivalent to 13%, and 9 average grades, equivalent to 16%.
