Phnom Penh: 17-year-old female wrestler Mon Sreypin will compete for a medal in the 3rd Asian Youth Olympic Games in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the freestyle wrestling category.
On her first mission to meet international athletes from Asian countries, Mon Sreypin, a wrestler from Kampong Chhnang province who used to practice traditional wrestling but has developed into modern wrestling, claimed she is training hard to improve her skills with her coach because she wants to win a medal for the nation at this major Youth Olympic event in Asia.

In her first mission, although she has strengthened her training to be better prepared, she still has some concerns about her strength and technique. However, Mon Sreypin is determined to increase her training to develop her ability to compete and bring medals to the country.

For the wrestling category, in the mission to compete for medals at the Youth Olympic Games in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Cambodia wrestling will send four athletes, including a coach, Mr. Jun Thuon, and three male and female athletes: Mon Sreypin, competing in the 49 kg weight category, Phan Leang Phi, competing in the 46 kg weight category, and Phan Chan Odom, competing in the 55 kg weight category.
It should be noted that, the 3rd Asian Youth Olympic Games in the Kingdom of Bahrain will start from October 22 to 31, 2025. In this regard, for Cambodia, there are 13 sports to compete, such as swimming, athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, judo, jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts, table tennis, WT taekwondo, wrestling, weightlifting, table football, and Kun Khmer, with a total of 128 athletes. In addition to competing for medals, Cambodia also has the duty of receiving the flag to host the 2029 Asian Youth Olympic Games.
