Soft Tennis to Include Mixed Men-Women Teams for the First Time in the 2025 Championship Competition

Phnom Penh: Ms. Khonsat Sannita, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation, highlighted that, for the 9th National Soft Tennis Championship 2025, the federation has set 11 disciplines for athletes to compete for 5 days with will start from October 6 to 10 just finish officially.

She said that the 11 disciplines which included in the competition, such as: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Letter (A) Men’s Doubles, Letter (B) Women’s Doubles, Mixed Men-Women Doubles, Youth Singles, Men’s Teams, Women’s Teams, and Mixed Men-Women Teams.

The Deputy Secretary-General said that, among these 11 disciplines, the mixed male and female competing discipline is the new discipline that has been included for the first time after being seen as a discipline with potential for the Cambodia soft tennis team to prepare for competing for medals in the international competitions.

 

The 9th National Soft Tennis Championship 2025 has a total of 5 participating ministries, institutions, capitals and provinces, such as: the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Defense, Kandal Province, Kampong Chhnang Province and Kampong Speu Province, with a total of 91 delegates, coaches and athletes. This competition has received the approval of H.E. Sar Sithik, Secretary of State, in charge of the Secretariat General of the Sports Council of the Ministry of Interior and President of the Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation, under the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.


In order to select athletes with high abilities and techniques, to gather training to prepare for participating in the international competitions, especially to train more grassroots resources to develop soft tennis in the future.
