The success of the Cambodia women’s wheelchair basketball team in the Asian Championship qualifiers is a source of pride for the entire nation.

H.E​. Yi Veasna, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, praised the determination of the Cambodia women’s wheelchair basketball team, who succeeded in the 2025 Asia Oceania Championship and received a spot to participate in the 5th Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan in 2026.

His Excellency the Secretary General considered the Cambodia women’s wheelchair basketball team to be brave women who could overcome difficulties and win against countries that the Cambodian team had never won before, such as India and Iran, etc. Therefore, this showed pride not only for the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia but also for the entire nation, as this result promoted the country’s image to the world.


H.E. Yi Veasna confirmed that, this is the third consecutive time that the women’s wheelchair basketball team of Cambodia has passed the Asian Youth Games qualifiers, after did in 2018 and 2022.

The event of the Asia Oceania Championship will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from November 7 to 15, 2025.


The women's Paralympic wheelchair basketball team of Cambodia won again in the afternoon of November 13, 2025. In Group B, Cambodia defeated Iran, Laos, the Philippines, and India, but lost to host Thailand.
