Phnom Penh: The competing event of the Vattanac Legends Golf Championship, organized by Vattanac company in collaboration with The Legends Tour, officially opened in the morning of November 19, 2025, under the Highest Presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the Supreme Council of the King of Cambodia, and Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Member of the Supreme Council of the King of Cambodia, at the Golf Court of Vattanac Golf Resort.
Neak Oknha Chhun Leang, co-founder of Vattanac Group, said that the competing event of the World-Class Golf Championship of Vattanac Legends Cup, has organized for the first time in the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a blessing and a celebration of the Cambodia-Thailand peace agreement that was recently achieved through the efforts of the Royal Government led by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Through by this peace and development, just the event of the famous world-class golf championship of the Legends Tour can be organized and run so smoothly.
Neak Oknha Chhun Leang hopes that through this tournament, both players and national and international guests will gain new feelings and experiences with an unforgettable atmosphere and will want to come back to play again on the international standard court covered with beautiful green grass, designed by six-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo, mixed with large trees and beautiful plants, and decorated with many sculptures of Cambodian cultural heritage, including Angkor Wat, Preah Vihear Temple, Brahma sculptures and Elephant Arena, etc., which are all exquisite Cambodian craftsmanship, and making this tournament even more attractive and imbued with a deeper meaning, which can be properly called “an international friendly golf tournament to promote peace and development, promote tourism, cultivate sportsmanship, strengthen solidarity and promote global cooperation, aiming to promote harmony and prosperity in both the region and the world.”
This is another historic step for Cambodia on the international stage, showing the world more clearly the progress and development in all sectors of Cambodia under the shadow of peace during the Techo-Thipadei era, that Cambodia has the ability and sufficient capacity to host the international sports events and can welcome tourists from all over the world with professionalism and warmth.
The opening day of this world-class golf tournament also includes a friendly match to congratulate and welcome international professional golfers, a match that will feature the participation of senior leaders of the Kingdom of Cambodia and international players participating in the Vattanac Legends Championship.
