The Cambodia national rugby team departed to compete abroad again after a long absence

The Cambodia national rugby team departed from the Techo International Airport on Wednesday night, January 28, 2026, heading to Singapore to participate in the competition of the SEA 7S tournament on Friday, January 30, and this weekend. 


This competition has 8 national teams from the ASEAN region, and divided into two groups. Cambodia is in Group B with the host Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.

H.E Lun Samdy, President of the Cambodia Rugby Federation, said that this is a departing to compete abroad again after many years were absence, and it is also a sign to inform to all compatriots that, Cambodia rugby is back. 


Relating to the development plan for rugby in Cambodia, the same President of federation said that, the federation will organize the competition of the national championship in February, with the participation of teams based in Phnom Penh, provinces and some organizations, with competitions for senior teams and youth teams.
