Phnom Penh: Speaking after the end of the ITF ASIA 14 & UNDER DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026-Regional Qualifying Event South, Southeast, & East Asia at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, Mr. Tep Rithivit, Secretary General of the Cambodia Tennis Federation, said that: On behalf of the host of this year’s ITF ASIA 14 & UNDER DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS, we are truly proud to have 12 countries participated, showing good performance.

The Same Vice President of the Asian Tennis Federation also said: In this international competition, what is important is that there are many athletes participated in competition and get more points, and on behalf of the Asian Tennis Federation has requested to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to recognize the points earned in this Asian level competition.
By adding points for the international level, this is an additional motivation to encourage the athletes in Asia, especially Cambodian athletes, to continue their training efforts even more. He said that training without competition does not polish the technical quality of the athletes. So, if you lose a match, you must compete more and your technique will improve accordingly.

“Another important point for the Asian Tennis Federation, as well as other federations, is that I want to have coaches to stay in the competing court. Previously, coaches did not have the right to be on the court, to support or provide any information to their players during the match. Now, I have requested the Asian Tennis Federation to have coaches have the right to stand on the court for players under-12 years old to under-18 age. When their athletes make a mistake, they can immediately correct them during the match after receiving instructions from their coaches,” Mr. Tep Rithivit added.
Please confirm that, this is a regional qualifying competition to find the two winning teams of 2 countries to advance to the final round in 2027. As of results include: Vietnamese and Philippine athletes as the winning teams will advance to the final round in 2027.
