Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese company in cooperation to support the National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts Training in Cambodia.

The memorandum of understanding was signed at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia in the afternoon of July 24, 2025, in the presence of Mr. Liu Erli, Director of the National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts Training and H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and along with H.E. Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation and Acting Secretary General of the International Kun Khmer Federation.
Mr. Liu Erly said that, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chinese Company and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, which was signed today, is the testament to show the support of the joint vision to promote and publish Kun Khmer to become more famous and spread out to the international stage. The National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts was established by Chinese Company in Cambodia, is a combined center for teaching, research and promotion.
Mr. Liu Erly strongly expected that, with the joint cooperation and support of two parties, the institute will achieve remarkable and glorious achievements for the heritage and development of Khmer martial arts.
At the same time, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, highlighted that the signing of this memorandum of understanding has important meanings that can be defined as a new context and a historical record for Kun Khmer, our national identity sport, to expand the promotion of Kun Khmer to the international stage to be stronger in terms of human resources of Kun Khmer, both coaches and athletes.
His Excellency also affirmed that, what is the vision of the joint purpose of company is to invest in the development and training of Kun Khmer resources to be more quality, which is fully supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, because the National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts is a school to train the coaching resources of Kun Khmer to be more and more diverse. Currently, expanding the influence of Kun Khmer to the international stage is becoming more professional and in line with the goal of promoting our Kun Khmer towards the potential to include Kun Khmer in the Olympic Games.
Please note that, the National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts was established by the Chinese Company in Cambodia that is to train the coaches of Kun Khmer to be a bachelor's degree. This institute will provide scholarships for Cambodians come to receive training to become qualified coaches of Kun Khmer with a bachelor's degree. However, for all other nationalities that come to receive this training course from the National Institute of Khmer Martial Arts, they must pay the full tuition fee. And this national institute accepts students from basic to advanced levels.
