A total of 25 participants, including 13 women, from 4 clubs
and associations based in Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom and Siem Reap
provinces, as well as national athletes, completed the Olympic Solidarity
Coaching Course on Hockey Level 1, which was held from 7 to 11 October 2025 at
the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.

The course was organized by the National Olympic Committee
of Cambodia and the Cambodia Hockey Federation through the Olympic Solidarity
project and the International Hockey Federation (FIH), with Tahir Zaman, an
experienced hockey coach from Pakistan.

According to the report of Mr. Kaing Sothea, Secretary
General of the Cambodia Hockey Federation, before the course began, the
Federation selected coaches from member clubs and associations who were active
(popular) at the local level and had potential in both quantity and quality. In
addition, the federation has also selected national hockey athletes to ensure
that they have the appropriate qualifications to be future level coaches.

The Secretary General of the Federation said that although
the training course is a bit short, it includes both theory and practice, and
there are also testing competitions. The content of the lessons includes: 1.
Some history of hockey 2. Preparing yourself as a coach 3. Introducing
technical words 4. Preparing the team 5. Warming up 6. Preparing the field 7.
Risks before and after training and lessons on stretching muscles after
training, etc.

Mr. Kaing Sothea claims that, this training course is very
important in improving the human resource capacity in the field of hockey
because coaches are the ones who sowed knowledge and technical knowledge to
their players to make hockey more popular among young people and other ages in
their own basics.
