Phnom Penh: H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister in charge of promoting the development of sports and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said that, hosting the “VATTANAC LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025” is a clear demonstration of Cambodia’s ability to host world-class golf events with international-standard golf courses. H.E. Dr.
Thong Khon’s statement was made at a press conference on the “VATTANAC LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025” in the evening of November 3, 2025 at the Vattanac Golf Resort.
His excellency Senior minister said that, the collaboration between Vattanac Golf Resort and the Legends Tour which based in Europe to bring this world-class international golf tourism event and there will be famous golfers from around the world, former major champions, and many influential individuals participating in the competition.
This international golf event will not only be broadcast in Cambodia but will also broadcast to Asia, Europe, the United States and other countries to showcase Cambodia’s potential, which will be watched by millions of viewers worldwide through broadcasts on major international sports television channels, international sports media, social media and in-person viewing.
Meanwhile, hosting this major golf event is a clear demonstration of Cambodia’s ability to host the world-class golf events with the international standard golf court of Vattanac Golf Resort, luxury hotels as well as Cambodia’s new F4-class Techo International Airport, which will provide convenient flight access for international sports delegations from around the world. His Excellency the Senior Minister also considered the global recognition of hosting the international event in Cambodia, promoting luxury tourism, boosting economic growth and attracting investment, promoting culture and hospitality, developing Cambodian golf, showcasing the quality of the experience in Cambodia and promoting it to millions of visitors worldwide.
At the same time, the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the dynamic and far-sighted leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has expressed his full support for bringing this world-class tourism sports event to Cambodia. In addition, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet also designated H.E. Dr. Neth Savoeun, Deputy Prime Minister, as His Highest representative to allow the international golf delegation to pay a courtesy call on November 18, 2025, to honor and encourage to all international players who are coming to compete in this event. More specifically, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the King and President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will also be honored to preside over the opening ceremony of this golf tournament on November 19, 2025. In this, Samdech Techo will also be honored to play golf with international professional players and Cambodia national team players, along with various ambassadors to Cambodia and important senior dignitaries.
On that occasion, His Excellency requested to Vattanac Golf Resort Company cooperate with relevant ministries, institutions, and authorities in coordinating all kinds of work, from accommodation, catering, transportation, hospitality, media, health systems, security, and field preparation to ensure that this historic golf tournament runs smoothly and successfully.
Please note that, the Vattanac Legends Golf Championship, which Vattanac Golf Resort has partnered with Legends Tour and collaborated with the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, the Cambodia Golf Federation, and the Ministry of Tourism, will host the first world-class golf tournament in Cambodia from November 21 to 23, 2025 at the court of Vattanac Golf Resort.
